When drivers don’t take the necessary precautions when driving, they are placing unnecessary risks on themselves and all others on the road which can cause them to be involved in an accident. These precautions are amplified during the winter months when roads are frequently covered with snow and ice. If you have been involved in an auto accident because of snowy and icy road conditions, you should turn to one of the experienced auto accident personal injury lawyers or expert snow and ice attorneys at the Law Offices of Gilbert R. Hoy, Jr. and Affiliates to help guide you through the process.
According to state police, Kevin J. Gutzwiller, 33 years-old, of Hamilton, Indiana, died Saturday afternoon in an auto accident on snow-covered roads in Indiana on westbound I-74. Mr. Gutzwiller died after being trapped under the vehicle that driver Hannah L. May, 25 years-old, of Okeana, Indiana, lost control. The accident occurred at around 4:40 p.m. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled over before coming to rest, inverted and off the roadway. In addition to the snow-covered roads, an investigation revealed Ms. May’s vehicle may have been going too fast for the existing weather and roadway conditions. She and two other passengers, including a 5 year-old boy, were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
